The table, as said by the name itself, refers to the idea of a carpet/tapestry (‘Sinking’ tapestry) made in 1987, which is now part of the Orléans Frac Centre collection.  The table is designed so as to make real the progressive ‘sinking’ suggested by the tapestry, and even doubles this idea in a kind of ‘hourglass’ that suggests a doubling of functions, too.
